Asbestos roof removal in Sydney
Super Six and corrugated asbestos roofs: risks, rules and costs for Sydney homes.
How do I know if my roof is asbestos?
Corrugated asbestos roofing such as 'Super Six' is one of the common non-friable products in NSW homes (asbestos.nsw.gov.au). Only a lab test confirms it.
Is an asbestos roof dangerous?
Undamaged bonded asbestos is lower risk. Weathering, hail damage, high-pressure cleaning or walking on brittle sheets can break it down, so don't clean or repair it yourself.
Who can remove an asbestos roof?
Roofs are almost always over 10 m², so a licensed removalist (Class B or above) must do it and notify SafeWork NSW (source).
What does roof removal cost?
One Sydney contractor publishes $8,000–$18,000 as a guide for a fibro roof or full cladding of 50–150 m² (Gabrael 2026 guide). New roofing is extra.

Sydney Asbestos Quotes is a free referral service. We are not an asbestos removalist and we do not hold an asbestos removal licence. We pass your request to independent removalists who say they hold a current SafeWork NSW licence, and you should always check a removalist's licence yourself before you engage them.
