How to check an asbestos removalist's licence in NSW
How to verify a NSW asbestos removal licence and what Class A and Class B mean.
What licence does an asbestos removalist need in NSW?
Class A covers friable asbestos; Class B covers non-friable asbestos (asbestos.nsw.gov.au). A Class A holder can also do non-friable work.
How do I check a licence?
Ask for the licence number (often starting with AD) and check it on Service NSW's licence check (Service NSW). Confirm the name, class and expiry date match.
What should a removalist give me?
A written quote, their licence number, how they'll notify SafeWork NSW where required, and the landfill disposal receipt afterwards. For friable work, a clearance certificate from a licensed assessor.
Do you check licences?
We ask every removalist we refer to for their SafeWork NSW licence number. Please also check it yourself before signing anything.

Sydney Asbestos Quotes is a free referral service. We are not an asbestos removalist and we do not hold an asbestos removal licence. We pass your request to independent removalists who say they hold a current SafeWork NSW licence, and you should always check a removalist's licence yourself before you engage them.
